Begin with Breakfast 

A healthy breakfast is an important start to the day.  

Every child at Chesterton Primary School has access to a free breakfast item in a ‘grab and go’ basket that is delivered to the classroom each morning. 

The items vary each day and include:
• Toast
• A wide range of fruit and vegetables

       

A balanced breakfast helps to regulate sugar levels to provide a steady supply of energy throughout the morning, which is essential for concentration and focus. 

A healthy breakfast can also contribute to children's ability to think faster and develop memory. 

Skipping breakfast can lead to hunger and irritability, which can have a negative impact on someone's day.   Every classroom has a basket of fruit free of charge to children to support the notion of ‘five-a-day’ and to encourage healthy eating across the school.
