Home Learning

Year 1 – 6

In all years, we expect the children to support their learning at school. This will vary from class-to-class and the class teacher will keep in regular communication via class dojo.

Children in Year 5 and 6 have their own i-pad and they are able to use this for home learning. This will support their learning as their crucial knowledge is all on their i-pads to reinforce their curriculum understanding.

Reading

Every child should aim to read four time a week and record this in their reading log.

 A record will be kept in school of the number of times that children are reading as this is vital for their learning.

Mathematics

Maths Whizz should be accessed as regularly as possible so children aim to make progressions on this programme. All children have their own log in.

Times Tables Rockstar is also encouraged so children are confident with their number work.

Spellings

Every week, there will be spellings to learn which will be tested and practised within the classroom. 

Subjects

Other subject homework is set. This is usually creative and project-based. Class teachers will set this as a ‘choice of tasks’ to complete.
